This is a self-paced video course. You watch the lessons whenever suits you, as many times as you like. There's no set class time and nothing you have to show up for.

It works on any device, with an app so your Irish comes with you: on the couch, on a walk, in the queue. And you'll be using it out loud from day one, even if it's just you and the dog.

School Irish failed me too. I left with next to nothing I could actually use. At 18 I moved to the Gaeltacht, started again, and became fluent by living in the language in a real way.

I went on to do a degree in Irish, a master's in Irish and a postgrad in education through Irish, but my everyday Irish was learnt in a practical, natural way, and that's exactly how I teach it too.

I have absolutely zero Irish. Is that okay?

I'm not really a beginner. Would this be too basic for me?

Knowing Irish and using Irish are two very different things, and this one is built entirely for the second.

If you already use Irish comfortably in your day, then no, it isn't for you. If you have words and phrases but you don't feel able to use Irish in your day-to-day, then this is course fills the gap you have needed. 

Is this course live?
No. It's self-paced video lessons, yours for life. Join during launch week and you also get six live Saturday sessions with me, but those are an optional, recorded bonus on top. The course is complete without them.

When are the live practice sessions?
We are deciding the best time to suit the majority inside the community. They will most likely be on Saturdays mornings. There are 6 sessions and they are all optional and also all recorded. 

What dialect will I learn?
Standard Irish, with every phrase linked to native speakers in the other dialects too, plus a cheat sheet on dialect differences and pronunciation. The basic phrases and structures stay the same no matter the dialect, so whatever one you're interested in, you're covered.

How much time does it take?
Lessons take about 10 minutes, so a few minutes here and there adds up to real progress. And with lifetime access, there's never a rush.
